Entertainment criticism is my passion. My three years at Siena have provided me with all of the resources I needed to pursue this interest.

I started as an English major, but was quickly drawn to the Creative Arts Department. I was able to write some as an English major, but I knew that I wanted more experience in writing material, and thus saw my potential in journalism.

This is where the Creative Arts department came into play. Once I changed majors my freshman year, my schedule was open to take classes such as Journalistic Writing and Communications Law and Ethics.

I was riveted in class on a daily basis. I was able to express my thoughts creatively in journalist writing. This newfound interest soon drew me into the world of movie criticism.

Outside of my Creative Arts major, I was able to find many venues to practice reviewing entertainment. I ran my own show on Siena’s radio station WVCR 88.3 FM The Saint, edited and wrote for the Arts and Entertainment sections of the student newspaper (The Promethean) as well as anchored and created stories for Siena’s on-campus television station.

My time that I spent at Siena was invaluable. I met professors excited to help me reach my goals and worked with other students who had similar interests. I know that I would not have been accepted into California State Fullerton master’s in communications program if not for my experiences at Siena.
