Mindstorms NXT Robotics Camp - Session 1 and 3 (Session 1 is Closed)
Students are presented with a challenge each day. They will build a robot and tailor it for that challenge. Students use a graphical programming language called Robolab to program their robot to accomplish their missions. Building instructions and programming guidance are provided for students with little experience. Experienced students are challenged to design and build their own robots and develop their own program to accomplish the missions.
Advanced Arduino Robotics Camp - Session 4
Students with previous experience in robotics will enjoy the challenge of the Arduino robot called Ardbot. Students must have two years of experience with the Mindstorm NXT robots to be accepted into this camp. Students will build the Ardbot from basic components including a chassis, servo motors, arduino controller, etc. Students will learn electronics skills to add sensors and wire the sensors and motors to connect them to the arduino microcontroller. The robots will be programmed using Modkit Arduino programming environment.
Electronic Music Dubstep Camp - Session 1 and 2 (Session 1 is Closed)
Dubstep, techno, and other dance music comes from learning the elements of electronic music. Learn how to record, sample, put on effects, and manipulate all kinds of sounds to make unique music. Using programs like Garage Band and Audacity, campers will have the opportunity to be creative with sound. This camp is suitable for beginners to intermediate since all campers will have their own computer to work at their own pace. Each day will consist of listening to different kinds of electronica, learning a skill, working on individual projects, and sharing with the group. Although no musical experience is required, the willingness to try new things and a respect for other campers is a must.
Intro to Programming with Scratch, Alice, and Python - Session 2 (Closed)
Ease into object-oriented programming concepts with Scratch (a project of the MIT Media Lab), creating stories and interactive adventures with stackable code blocks. Next is an introduction to Java with Alice, one of the most powerful languages used for both internet apps and software programs. Finally, try you hand at text based porgramming with Python. Complete fun mini-challenges throughout the week, and get a taste for real-world programming.
Raspberry Pi - Programming with Python - Session 3
This is a camp that will allow students to use the Raspberry Pi, a credit-card sized computer that runs Linux, and has GPIO and other peripherals to create small computing projects. Topics will cover setting up the Raspberry Pi, an introduction to Linux, programming in Python, and controlling the GPIO pins on the Pi using three different methods including the shell, from Python and from Scratch .
Minecraft - Session 2 and 4 (Closed)

Whether you are a veteran or new to the game, this is your chance to explore, build, and develop new skills! Learn how to host your own server for your classmates, install and manage Minecraft mods, and accelerate your Minecraft creation skills. Put your construction skills to the test with individual and team-based 3D design challenges. Finish up by designing and building your own creation, then publish your very own Minecraft map!
Forensics - Session 1 (Session 1 is Closed)
During the Forensic Science camp, kids will learn how to collect and analyze a variety of evidence, including fingerprints, shoe prints and impressions, blood, written documents (handwriting, ink analysis, content, paper), soil, bugs (entomology), plants, pollen, tires, and trace evidence. They will then put what they learn to the test in mock crime scenes designed to stimulate critical thinking. A combination of real crime scene investigation equipment and supplies, a range of hands-on activities, challenging questions along the way, and scenes which bring it all together provide a thorough introduction to this fascinating area of science.
Experimenting with Art - Session 4
Join in on the fun in this hands-on camp where science meets art in a head-on fashion. Students will then spend the week creating hands-on and digital arts projects that explore popular and interesting scientific concepts. Using everything from traditional art materials to modern computer software, students will create cool projects that celebrate the connections between art, science and technology.
