Assistant Professor of Social Work - 2 positionsThe BSW Program at Siena College (Loudonville, NY) is seeking applicants for two fulltime tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to begin in the 2013-2014 academic year. CSWE accredited since 1985 (next re-accreditation 2014). The department is to be housed in the newest, green-certified academic building with the most up-to-date technology teaching environment on campus. Minimum requirements include: MSW with at least 5 years practice experience; prior social work/human service teaching experience; a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education; a collaborative working style; and demonstrated commitment to scholarship. In keeping with the College Mission, preference will be given to applicants who can assist in actively promoting diversity through electives, Franciscan Concern core courses, and other activities. Responsibilities will include a 3/3 teaching load of both introductory and advanced level courses, which may include: Introduction to Social Welfare & Social Work, Practice Theory & Skills, Human Behavior, Research Methods, and Field Education Seminar; assisting in curriculum and program development; student advisement and mentoring (Note: No advisees are assigned in 1st year); potential responsibility for Field Coordination (with course load reduction).
