Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology

The Sociology Department at Siena College is seeking applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning September 2013, with possible renewal. We seek a colleague who shares our commitment to innovative teaching, high quality scholarship, and civic engagement.

Successful applicants will be expected to teach sections of Quantitative Research Methods and Sociological Perspectives—an introductory course covering basic concepts with a specific emphasis selected by the instructor. Additional teaching responsibilities include some of the following: Population, Race and Ethnic Relations, Social Stratification, and other courses as needed.

Minimum qualifications are a doctoral degree or ABD in Sociology and evidence of successful undergraduate teaching experience. The teaching load for visiting faculty is four sections per semester.
