Lead Custodian - Trustco Bank Center
Siena College is accepting resumes for the full-time position of Lead Custodian in the Trustco Bank Center. The hours are Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The Lead Custodian is responsible for working independently in the performance of routine manual cleaning tasks and maintaining a stock of supplies in the buildings, as assigned by the immediate supervisor. In addition, change light bulbs, police the outside of the building, shovel snow and sweep entrances and outside patios, decks, and doormats, water flowers, and minor repairs. The Lead Custodian will demonstrate the ability to learn about chemical safety, how to determine when to run specialized equipment properly, how to clean & disinfect bathrooms & showers, learn blood borne pathogen safety & procedures. This position will work courteously & cooperatively with staff, and communicate information and needed repairs to the immediate supervisor for further follow up or repair. The position requires long periods of standing, climbing, bending, stooping, moving of furniture and lifting of objects weighing up to fifty pounds. In addition to all the responsibilities assigned to the Custodian, the Lead Custodian may be responsible for training, leadership, quality control and general activities of at least one Custodian, Janitor or Cleaner.
