Trustco Bank Center Caretaker

Siena College is accepting applications for the full-time, 12-month position of Trustco Bank Center Caretaker. Reporting to the Grounds Foreperson, this position is responsible for maintaining the Trustco Bank Center property and the Siena College campus to the highest standards, ensuring that assigned areas are safe and attractive. Reporting to the Grounds Foreperson, position responsibilities include turf care, mowing & trimming, tree pruning, care of campus flowers and shrubs, snow removal, maintenance of irrigation systems, ground water systems, trash & recycle pick-ups, operating a variety of equipment in all weather conditions. The Caretaker is also responsible for minor building maintenance and repairs, assisting with snow and ice operations as assigned, and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls including after hour calls as needed. The Caretaker will obtain and maintain appropriate certifications.

Requirements: a high school diploma and at least three years of relevant experience are required for this position. Experience with use & maintenance of turf and the ability to operate specialized equipment including mowers, snow removal equipment and other small equipment are also required. Candidates must possess a valid New York State Driver License at the time of appointment and must maintain such license throughout the tenure of employment.
