Associate Campus Minister

Siena College located in Loudonville, NY, invites applications for the full-time, 12-month position of Associate Campus Minister in the Office the College Chaplain. This position is for a 3-year appointment. Siena College is a four-year, Roman Catholic, undergraduate institution in the Franciscan tradition with 3,000 students.

The Associate Campus Minister supports the College Chaplain in his role in articulating and promoting Siena’s Catholic and Franciscan identity and mission. The Chaplain’s Office not only ministers to individual members of the College community, but to the institution as a whole.

The Associate Campus Minister will be responsible for developing and coordinating programs that enhance the College’s Catholic and Franciscan identity, providing programs built around faith formation that offer opportunities for spiritual growth and development. In particular, the Associate Campus Minister will help develop, institute, and animate a student peer minster program in collaboration with other College offices.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, administering a student peer minister program, providing young adult faith formation, organizing student retreats, coordinating the R.C.I.A. program, and offering energetic pastoral outreach to collegians.

Applicants must have earned a Master’s degree or its equivalent in Theology, pastoral ministry, or a related field. The position requires at least one year of relevant experience, and knowledge of Roman Catholic Church teaching and ritual. Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience working with young adults; who evidence good pastoral, organizational, and communication skills; have knowledge of the Catholic and Franciscan tradition and can articulate the tradition; have a familiarity with contemporary issues affecting Catholic higher education; have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues; as well as have a passion and desire to minister to and with young adults.
