Dean of the School of Business

Siena College invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Business. We seek a dynamic and innovative leader who will provide vision and direction for the School of Business, while working in a collaborative manner with faculty, department chairs, and college administrators to further the aims of Siena College and the School of Business.

Siena is a coeducational, independent, liberal arts college in the Franciscan and Catholic tradition. It is located in New York’s capital district, in close proximity to educational and cultural institutions, businesses and the state government, as well as an easy drive to the Adirondacks, Boston and New York. The School of Business has 1,200 majors, which represents 40% of the overall college enrollment of 3,100. The school offers a state-of-the-art financial trading room, numerous student internships, service and global studies opportunities, and a MS in accounting program. The Dean is responsible for developing high quality and innovative academic programs; maintaining our AACSB accreditation in good standing; promoting excellence in teaching, research and service; recruiting quality faculty and students; fostering alumni, business and donor relations. The Dean also is expected to participate actively in shared college governance and to contribute to the assessment of academic programs and learning.
The ideal candidate is expected to have the following: a record of achievement in academic leadership; working knowledge of and experience with AACSB; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a collaborative approach to decision-making and problem-solving; teaching experience at the undergraduate level; a record of scholarship to meet departmental standards for tenure; a terminal degree in a business or related field; experience in development and/or external affairs; and a commitment to the College’s mission as a Franciscan liberal arts institution.
