Visiting Assistant Professor of Modern Languages & Classics

The department of Modern Languages and Classics at Siena College invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track, position. This is a Visiting Assistant Professor position for a period of 1 year, with possibility of renewal for up to 5 years. The successful candidate will participate fully in our department and will carry a 4/4 teaching load. We are seeking a candidate with dual expertise in either French/Classics or French/Italian.

The successful French/Classics candidate will be able to teach elementary to advanced French, as well as all levels of undergraduate Latin, Greek, and Classical culture and civilization. The successful French/Italian candidate will be able to teach all levels of undergraduate French and Italian from elementary to advanced. Since it is a non-tenure track position, the candidate must be an individual with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. The position carries less emphasis on research publications. Candidates who will have completed a Ph.D. in French, Classics or Italian by August 2014 are preferred, though ABD candidates will be considered.
