Former New York State Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation Basil Seggos: "After completing his BA at Trinity College (NY) and his law studies at Pace University School of Law, Commissioner Seggos began working as a chief investigator and an attorney for Riverkeeper, Inc. After that, he served as vice president of business development for Hugo Neu, a clean-tech private equity company. He began working for New York State in 2012 as the assistant secretary for the environment under Gov. Andrew Cuomo. In 2013, he was appointed deputy secretary of the environment. He remained in this position until being appointed commissioner in 2015. Commissioner Seggos also became a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, Judge Advocate General's Corps. In April 2024, he stepped down from his position as Commissioner."
