Our theater program encourages students to participate in a multidisciplinary education by taking classes in performance, production, and stage management. Classes offered include: acting (both for stage and camera), directing, a variety of history courses, costume, lighting, and set design. Our theater produces work that ranges from traditional plays in the historic canon, to contemporary performances that utilize devised theatre, theatre for social justice, and diverse performance spaces.

We are located only a few hours from New York City, with many wonderful theater venues that our students are able to experience. The Capital Region theaters offer our students spaces for professional development during the summer. Our program invites many visiting theater professionals to help in producing, designing and directing our productions. We strive to offer our students a variety of theater perspectives and techniques and allow our students work side by side with other professionals in their field of study.
