Ensuring Summer Meals Hit the Spot

The United Way of the Greater Capital Region has been offering a summer meals program for 10 years now, with nearly two million meals being distributed in that decade. Economics major Thomas Ragone ’24 is working with a team to ensure that the food being distributed is actually being consumed and providing nourishment as intended, and that the overall operation is cost-effective.

The Fruits of Their Labor

Fr. Greg Gebbia and Fr. Bob Sandoz had done some gardening before, but were interested in really embracing the hobby to promote a green lifestyle and feed their brother friars on campus. Most of all, they wanted to support Pope Francis' call to connect with creation and protect “our common home”: Mother Earth.

Three-Year Self-Study Concludes with Accreditation

The program that prepares Siena students for careers in front of the classroom has a new national accreditation. The College’s teacher preparation program has been accredited, effective immediately, by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a quality assurance agency that provides accreditation services and formative support to all types of educator preparation providers.

Congratulations, You're Hired! - Siena ITS

Mason Yattaw '23 graduated in May and was almost immediately offered a job as a user support specialist in Siena's ITS department. He spent two years in ITS as a student worker, and when a position opened up, unlike most of his classmates, he didn't have to leave when he graduated.

The Curtain Rises on a New Major

Siena’s Creative Arts department has just received state approval for its newest major: theatre. Effective this fall semester, the College can begin enrolling students to work toward a bachelor of arts in theatre. Three separate tracks will be offered: design and technology, performance, or management.
