Good Friends, Better Learning, Best Buddies

Three Siena College women were honored by Best Buddies New York during last month’s Women Making a Difference Luncheon. Katelyn Fletcher ’13, Abigail Hallock ’13 and Heather Hanrahan were recognized for their participation in Siena’s College-Based Transition Program, which helps special education students who have graduated from the North Colonie Central School District move into adulthood.

Phelan to Lead M.S. in Accounting Program

Elaine Phelan, CPA has been appointed Director of the Master of Science in Accounting Program at Siena College.The program prepares students for careers in the accounting profession and enhances their presentation and communications skills while strengthening their technical knowledge of accounting, auditing and taxation.

Hitting A High Note

In Fall 2011, Siena College welcomed Timothy Reno, DMA, as its first full-time vocal and choral music director. In only three semesters, what was once a handful of choral students has evolved into two choirs involving almost 40 singers.

Service Immersion in Jamaica

Several Siena students, staff, faculty members and friars traveled to Kingston, Jamaica on a Service Immersion Trip during winter break. Through a variety of hands-on experiences, they lived Siena College’s Franciscan mission of serving the poor and marginalized in a country that faces many social and economic challenges.
