The School of Liberal Arts welcomed alumni to campus earlier this semester to share experiences in their professional journeys as part of a panel discussion with current students.

Creative arts and digital photography students used their talent to raise more than $500 for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. During a two day event called Focus on Sandy, the photography students sold their photos and donated all of the proceeds to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief efforts.

During the fall semester Siena students and Dan Detora, director of dining services, changed some of the food-purchasing habits of the College toward locally produced organic foods or real foods. Real foods are considered sustainable ethical production and are nourishing for the consumer, producer and community as well as the health of our planet.

Robots took over Siena College last Friday during the second annual RoboShow. Culminating a semester of research and programming, five teams of computer science students put their robots on display.

Students gathered in the Key Auditorium for another installment of the School of Business Lecture Series. This time, students heard a presentation from local businessman Burke Cos. Principal Thomas Burke titled, “What Business Am I Really In? How Many Hats Do I Wear?”

Helping others is a central part of Siena’s Franciscan tradition and every year the Student Events Board devotes an entire week to raising money for a local charity.

The countless hours the cast and crew devoted to their craft during the past three months shines through during their engaging performances of "Anti Gone Today." Siena College’s Creative Arts Department and theater club Stage III produced a successful show with a new spin on an ancient classic.

The History Department co-sponsored a conference with the Capital District Civil War Round Table called “1862: A Year of Battles.” The conference was a three day event and featured student presentations, expert speakers and a tour of Burden Ironworks to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

Ananda Brinkmann ’13 received the Volunteer Appreciation Award from the Capital City Rescue Mission forher work at its free clinic. The Capital City Rescue Mission Free Clinic in Albany is a non-profit organization that administers basic health care and medical care to those who are homeless.

Fr. Dennis Tamburello '75, O.F.M, Ph.D. received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Mount McGregor Correctional Facility in honor of the work he’s done there in the recent years.
