Rachel Bryk '22 changed her major three times, dropped out of college, took up landscaping, then found her calling and her way home to Siena. The walk across the graduation stage is the same distance for every student, but no student's journey to the stage has ever been like this.

A Tradition of Kings on Campus

Martin Luther King III spoke May 3 at the UHY Center on “Strengthening the Bonds of Racial Justice,” which echoed Siena’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. He was also awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters. It was the College’s 35th annual Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King Lecture.

Hotspotting for the Super-Utilizers

Hotspotting is a health care method aimed at reducing costs while improving patient health and experience. It works by identifying “super-utilizers” (those with frequent hospital visits or admissions), and provides hands-on, individualized interventions for patients with complex social and health care needs.

'Quarks to Cosmos' in the City

Eight Siena students attended the April meeting of the American Physical Society (APS), held April 9 – 12 in New York. The meeting’s theme, “Quarks to Cosmos,” encompassed a broad range of research areas in physics: astrophysics, particle physics, nuclear physics, and gravitation, as well as topics on education, and issues of diversity and equity in the field. More than 1,500 attendees took part.
