A month or two into the job search, and Cole DiGiacomo '21 hadn't found the right opportunity, until he got a call from a former Siena classmate...

In May of this year, Carmelo Emmanuele '20 took a job with Airosmith Development in Saratoga Springs. The company provides network infrastructure site development solutions for wireless carriers and broadband providers. For example, if a wireless carrier wants to add equipment to a cell tower, a team from Airosmith will conduct a structural analysis of the tower to determine whether it will support the equipment. Emmanuele's team needed a new member, and he reached out to DiGiacomo.

"Carmelo asked me if I was interested in a job. I applied, I got interviewed, and I was hired in less than a week. If not for Carmelo, I wouldn't have this opportunity."

DiGiacomo and Emmanuele took a class together at Siena, then teamed up at Airosmith, and now they're back in a classroom together. Both Siena graduates are working on their master's at Clarkson University's Capital Region campus in Schenectady (DiGiacomo is pursuing his degree in electrical engineering while Emmanuele is working toward a master's in mechanical engineering). DiGiacomo is taking two summer courses on top of his full-time job, but will graduate with his master's degree next June.

DiGiacomo and his team currently do all of their evaluations in-house. Soon, he'll travel to potential sites for future towers, take pictures and measurements, and run his analysis. Also he's already paid Emmanuele's gesture forward. Airosmith looked to expand its team again, and this time DiGiacomo contacted Declan Cahill '21, who also graduated this May with a degree in applied physics. Cahill started his career with Airosmith on August 16.

"I'm extremely thankful that within the Siena community we Saints typically look out for each other because without this, I would not have gotten such a great opportunity with a great company right after graduating."
