Nora Gleason ’16

This past Saturday, hundreds of Siena community members, families and friends gathered in the Marcelle Athletic Complex for the eleventh annual Mr. Siena pageant. Each year, the event is held as a fundraiser for the Habitat for Humanity chapter at Siena College. This year’s pageant was another success with around 700 tickets sold. Between the ticket, t-shirt, and button sales, a little over $5,000 was raised for the charity.

The contestants, Patrick Moran ’19, Cody McEneny Ingraham ’18, David Posner ’18, Paolo Fiore ’17, Tubo Akangbou ’17, Kristian Payne ’16, Adam Nelson ’16 and Kevin Osse ’16, all showed their smooth dance moves, creative skits and incredible talents to a packed crowd.

Organizers of the event, Kirsten Jedd ’17, Megan Coleman ’17, Dii CamTu Lieu ’17, Robert Morvillo ’19, and Brittany Marino ’19 put in tireless effort to make it a special night for all involved and in attendance.

Jedd, Co-Chair of the event, did not hesitate to mention the support she received from her fellow organizers, “We all split the work, we all choose the music, we create the choreography, we make the banners, buttons, posters, blooper videos, order T shirts, and contact clothing companies for attire.”

As the show came to an end, the anticipation was high to see who would win the title of “Mr. Siena, 2016.” Paolo Fiore, three-time Mr. Siena contestant, took this year’s crown.

“Even though there is only one winner, every contestant is supportive to one another and the contestants just really care for one another even though it is considered a contest,” said Jedd.

As Mr. Siena 2016, Fiore will serve as next year’s host.
