Student Life

Siena kicked off the fall semester on Thursday, August 28 with Move-In Day. Members of the Siena community, including students, faculty, administrators, staff and the College’s new interim president, Br. F. Edward Coughlin, O.F.M., Ph.D. helped first-year, transfer and international students unload their cars, unpack boxes and unwind on campus as they began to experience life at Siena.

“I am excited to extend Franciscan hospitality to the newest members of the Siena College community. Since this is also my first semester at Siena, I can relate to the enthusiasm and also the uncertainty they may be feeling, but once we settle in, I am confident that we will have a successful academic year,” said Br. F. Edward Coughlin, O.F.M., Ph.D. “This is an exciting time for our new students. They will have the opportunity to forge lifelong friendships, open their minds and uncover their passions, and they’ll have the support of the entire Siena community as they pursue them."

Other activities included a special liturgy for the the new students and their families, which was followed by a barbecue catered by Giffy's BBQ on the academic quad.
