On Wednesday, February 8, Siena’s Pre-Law Society hosted a networking event for Siena students on campus. Eight Albany Law School alumni and professors spoke with and educated our Pre-Law students on the ins and outs of their fields of law.

The visiting Albany graduates included: Professor Ted DeBarbieri-Director of the Albany Law School Community Development Clinic, Professor Peter Halewood- University at Albany’s Global Institute for Health and Human Rights, Antony Haynes- Associate Dean at Albany Law School, Samantha Koolen- Advocate in the Public Defense/Criminal Justice Systems, Gracja Nowak-Staff Attorney for the Legal Project, Robert Rausch- Partner in Maynard, O’Connor, Smith & Catalinotto Firm, Professor Ray Brescia- Albany Law School.

The students in attendance were able to pick a field that appealed to them and engage in in-depth conversations about what to expect in law school and on the job. Every lawyer and attorney told stories about their careers in the different fields and answered any questions. The lawyers and attorneys in attendance ranged from 5 years of experience to 25 years and environmental law to family law.

The Thirteenth Annual Lawyers’ Reception was held on February 16 in Snyder Hall. This event recognized the members of the Distinguished Jurist Selection Committee for their committed and dedicated service to the Siena College Distinguished Jurist-in-Residence program.

Honorees included: The Honorable Stephen Ferradino ’63, The Honorable Richard Giardino ’81, The Honorable Gerard Maney ’71 (Chair) and The Honorable Richard Sise ’78.
