Siena College’s School of Business Lecture Series welcomed Jason Gottlieb ’92 in early December for its final lecture of the semester.

Gottlieb is the managing director of the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group at Goldman Sachs. He is also head of AIMS Global Manager Strategies Group and a member of the Liquid Markets Alternatives Investment Committee. Gottlieb previously worked as an analyst in the Firmwide Risk Department of Goldman Sachs where he was responsible for analyzing the firm’s proprietary trading portfolios. Gottlieb is also a member of the Siena College Board of Associate Trustees.

Gottlieb, who graduated from Siena College with a degree in finance and earned an M.B.A. from Fordham University, shared his advice for the future and advice about getting into the finance world.

“This is one of the most evolutionary industries in the world,” Gottlieb said. “My career certainly hasn’t been without bumps, but if you have a plan and go for it, you can always succeed. Nobody can manage your career better than yourself and Siena College will absolutely prepare you for any future challenges.”

Students in attendance enjoyed Gottlieb’s lecture. “It was educational as well as interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing who the speakers are in the spring,” said Melanie Segreto ’13.
