Class of 2014 celebrates at 100 Days After Graduation Party

Siena’s Senior Gift has brought in $12,716, exceeding its goal for the third straight year. Students on the Senior Gift Committee chose to donate the funds to the Grotto, joining the Classes of 2005 and 2006 in supporting the outdoor prayer space being constructed between McGuire Hall and the Fr. Ben Kuhn House. The Grotto will open in October.

“We’re lucky that we have a class that is very excited to stay connected with Siena,” said Senior Gift Committee Member Kaitlin Harrison ’14.

Siena’s Senior Gift campaign is led by Alumni Relations and raises money through student events such as the Senior Gift Kickoff Party, Senior Week Champagne Toast and 100 Days After Graduation Party at Saratoga Race Course.

“While the Senior Gift is a great way for new graduates to thank Siena College for all of the opportunities it has offered, it is also an excellent way for the Alumni Relations office to connect with students who will soon be alumni,” said Jake Hill ’09, associate director of alumni relations.

Hill said that many new graduates stay involved with Siena as donors, volunteers or by attending events run by Alumni Relations.

“Even though our four years is up, it doesn’t mean that our relationship with Siena is over,” said Harrison.  She graduated with degrees in actuarial science and economics and will begin teaching at a high-need middle school in Queens, N.Y., in September through the New York City Teaching Fellows program.

In the last five years, the Senior Gift has received $63,504 in donations to campaign initiatives such as the Stack Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Center for Revolutionary Era Studies and Rosetti Hall.
