College friars highlighted the Franciscan mission in a presentation to Community Assistants. How well did the CA's retain the knowledge? Chicken and pesto lasagna was at stake...

The categories included "Calm Down, Wear Brown" and for 100 points, "The 'robes' that friars wear are called these." Be careful, if you buzz in and answer incorrectly, your team loses points.

The correct answer: What are habits?

Community Assistants and Resident Directors divided into eight teams of approximately eight, and they competed in a Jeopardy!-style trivia battle of Franciscanism. When it comes to grounding their knowledge in the Franciscan mission, everybody is a winner! However, there was only one true winning team.

To the victor went a championship dinner at the friary, hosted by Fr. Tito Serrano, Fr. Greg Gebbia, Fr. Bob Sandoz, and Br. Jason Damon. Fr. Tito took the lead preparing a meal of chicken and pesto lasagna with broccoli rabe, plus garlic bread and salad, and strawberry tiramisu for dessert.

"I had a great time, and I think the students did as well. It was nice to sit outside and have a family-style meal. I hope to have the chance to host more students like that in the future."

Fr. Tito Serrano, O.F.M.

"Having this competition occur during CA training really allowed me the opportunity to get to know other staff members that I may not have had otherwise. Plus, the dinner was absolutely amazing, all thanks to the delicious food that Fr. Tito prepared for us as well as the overall aesthetic Fr. Greg created by placing lanterns around the table and garden that surrounded us. This was definitely on my Siena bucket list and I couldn't be more happy to have shared this experience with everyone that attended."
