Education Expo

Education Expo 2014 will be held on March 27th  from 9 AM- 12 PM

Location: Polish Community Center, Washington Ave Ext. Albany

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I get there?

You are responsible for your own transportation to Education Expo.

Directions can be found here:

What schools will be there?

See the bottom of this page for the list of attending schools/ districts. (Will be updated starting in February 2014.)

What do I wear?

Professional dress is required.  We also suggest conservative dress.

Do I need to sign up for Education Expo?

No prior sign up is necessary- however when you arrive, please check in with the Career Center- we will have a Siena College banner.  We will issue you a nametag, a map, and answer any questions you may have.

Some of my friends who attended a few years ago submitted their resumes in advance.  Why can't I do that?

Due to schools and districts not reviewing student resumes in advance, we have eliminated this option.  You will be able to give a hard copy of your resume to the schools/ districts in which you are interested at the fair.

What should I bring?

Bring copies of your resume on nice resume paper. You are strongly encouraged to have your resume critiqued prior to Education Expo.  Get it critiqued by the Career Center and also seek out your education professors' advice.  Bring a pen and paper.  If you have a padfolio, bring that.  Otherwise, bring a folder.

What should I expect?

Expect to wait in line to talk to representatives from the various schools/ districts.  Expect to only have 45-60 seconds or so to talk with representatives from the more popular districts.  Have an elevator speech prepared so you can best present yourself in that short amount of time.  If available, get the business cards of each person with whom you spoke.

What do I do after Education Expo?

Write a thank you note to each person with whom you spoke.  Also remember that Education Expo is only one tool in your search.

I can't make it in to the Career Center to have my resume critiqued.
